Canyon Fabric Collection by Kate Spain is available here.
I was amazed as I read Kate’s story of what intrigued her to design “Canyon”, my most favorite fabric collection of all time. Kate shared how at the age of 9 her mother took her to New York Botanical Garden. Kate’s mother let her select and buy one plant from the gift shop. Kate chose a small cactus. Year after year as Kate’s cactus continued to bloom her imagination drifted to the sunsets, big skies and wide open spaces out west. These thoughts stirred Kate’s heart and inspired her to design “Canyon”. Only Kate could combine the vibrant mixture of luscious shades of blues, greens, purples, grays & reds. Colors seen in sunsets, blooming desert flowers, cactus, woven handmade baskets and birds in flight. We are blessed by Kate’s great insight of what her imagination brought to life from a simple cactus she took home so many years ago. I will never forget what the smallest act of a mother’s kindness may instill in the life of a young child. I am on the edge of my seat waiting to see what Kate will design next as she continues to shower us with the most amazing designs and fabrics. I thank you Kate for enriching our lives by sharing your heart and talent with the world.
